Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents a dental surgeon as well as a teacher recognized and supported her love of theater and acting at an early age, which was more important than a desire to be a primatologist due to her fascination with monkeys. As a young woman rising to the heights of fame was swift and ended with early successes. Before she began to pursue an acting career Tautou took part in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of Best Young Actress in during the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she now dissociates herself from the aforementioned societal influences. Modeling and acting have been interspersed. She became the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as the Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited at The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. In her photographs, she is mainly focused on celebrities and fame. Cameras are focused towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to the heights of fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first big role, starring in the role of The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was an international box-office hit, receiving accolades at awards galas around the world. It's also the biggest French language film ever on the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou starred in many films which included British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
