Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. She started her Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than 100 years. Ashford was a part of two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. She has also performed on Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and now divides her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
